GBI began in one of the most technically demanding trades within industrial construction: tank erection. API storage tanks, elevated clarifiers, pressure vessels, work where there's no margin for imprecision, where structural integrity and safety are inseparable.
That discipline built the company. The safety, quality controls, culture, the systematic pre-planning and crew formation that GBI developed in tank work became the foundation for everything else.

Electrical wasn't added because a consultant said to diversify. It was added because a customer asked, 'Can you handle the I&E on this project?' and we said yes, and proved it. The same is true for structural, mechanical, and piping, for railroad, for fabrication.
